You must arrive knowing this piece as we will immediately split into groups and begin singing. (Warming up at interval is also a good idea.)

1. Buy a Tutti Concert CD! ($10 to Finance Centre)– Don’t miss out on this professionally-recorded souvenir of the concert. The meager fee of $10 goes entirely to covering the cost of hiring a professional who put top quality mics and mixed the thing, plus producing the physical disks. Get what I’m saying? If you want top-quality recordings of future concerts, pay the $10 for a CD

2. Are you interested in the workshop with Wellington Youth Choir? See the next post. Leave you name on it THIS WEEK or it will be too late.

3. Practice the NEW VERSION of the National Anthem– listen to it here:

Wellington Youth Choir is coming to Nelson and is holding a workshop the last day of term:

• Friday 25 Sept at Nelson College for Girls
• 2pm- ??? (TBD)

I realise it is a tough time for seniors because of exams and Year 12s because it is Leadership Day. But some of you may still wish to attend the workshop.

(9am– Orch arr. and sets up)

9.30am-12pm– Camerata joins–combined orchs and choirs rehearsal

12pm– all help clear stage, then Camerata members free for lunch

2pm– concert call time at NSOM

2.30pm– CONCERT

4.30pm– Approx. finish concert– everyone helps clear up!

We rehearse in the hall with the orchestra 9.15-9.45am

Camerata performs at the end of each concert!

1pm Concert– for Year 10s & 13s and interested staff

7pm Concert– for the world at large (tell your parents to come!)

The concert should finish by 9.30pm

Call times 1pm and 7pm (be in the staffroom at the start of the concert)

Camerata, you are performing “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” at both assemblies tomorrow (Weds).

You will sound check in the hall at 9.30am.

After that you can change into your PERFORMANCE UNIFORM (which you have left, ironed and on a hanger, in M block)

You will perform at 10.10 and them 11.30.

I know . . . the Big Sing has just finished, but we need to get straight onto the next thing:

Thursday 2 July (Week 10) Variety Concert (as part of Arts Week)

We will be accompanying the orchestra with:

• The Anvil Chorus
• Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves
• Anthem from Chess

These are the 3 songs we looked at briefly at the end of our workshop day.

CAMERATA: The Big Sing is THIS TUESDAY!!!! Here is a run-down of everything you need to know:

Meet: 8.30am in M block. NO MORNING REHEARSAL
Returning: We will return to Waimea College bus bay around 11.15pm

Please note: We WILL NOT HAVE EXTRA PERFORMANCE SHIRTS or any uniform items. It is your responsibility to bring what you need!

Please DO NOT think that you will be missing school, but then going home at 3.10– it’s a bit of school’s time and a bit of your own, that’s the deal!
